The Smart Meter Installation Schedule (SMIS) (formerly Smart Meter Installation Code of Practice (SMICoP)) was a Code of Practice for Suppliers in relation to the Customer-facing aspects of the installation of Smart Metering Systems.

It was developed to deliver the Licence requirement for Suppliers to follow an approved installation code of practice when installing the first smart meter for domestic and micro-business customers.

The SMIS was replaced by the Consolidated Metering Code of Practice (CoMCoP) in April 2023. The current version of the CoMCoP can be accessed by Portal account holders here.
