Energy Ombudsman

The Energy Ombudsman is an independent service, approved by Ofgem, that provides help to resolve disputes between energy companies and consumers.

Consumers can complain to the Energy Ombudsman if 8 weeks have elapsed since their original complaint and no resolution has been reached.

Energy Suppliers have an obligation to tell consumers how to contact the Energy Ombudsman at 8 weeks or when a ‘deadlock’ has been hit.

Ombudsman's decisions are final and can include making a company correct a problem and payment of compensation.
