How do I get access to the Electricity Enquiry Service?
To access EES, you must have an Access Agreement in place with RECCo, and must have completed the required Information Security and Data Protection Assessment activities in accordance with the Qualification and Maintenance Schedule. 

To begin  you need to submit an application through the Party Operations section of the REC Portal. You will need a REC Portal login to complete this action.

How do I get access to the Gas Enquiry Service?
If you have an existing agreement for either the Electricity Enquiries Service APIs or have an agreement with Xoserve for the Supply Point API access,  the REC Code Manager and Xoserve will be in touch with you about your access to GES for when it comes under the governance of the REC.

If you do not have existing arrangements in placeTo access GES, you must have an Access Agreement in place with RECCo, and must have completed the required Information Security and Data Protection Assessment activities in accordance with the Qualification and Maintenance Schedule. 

To sign an Access Agreement, you need to submit an application through the Party Operations section of the REC Portal. You will need a REC Portal login to complete this action.

Are PCWs obligated to use the Electricity Enquiries Service or Gas Enquiry Service?
Before a Switch Request can be submitted, it must be checked that the MPXN and REL address ID accurately reflect the Registrable Meter Point using the relevant Enquiry Service to validate the data. This activity can be completed by either the Energy Supplier or their agent/contractor so will be determined by the commerical arrangements in place. 

To facilitate the move to next day switching, it is reccomended this activity is undertaken at the Point of Acquisition to not delay the switch.
