Category 1 and Category 2 documents are mandatory obligations to the REC.  The REC Baseline Statement defines the categorisation status for all REC documents.  

Category 1 documents are commonly those that cover market participant obligations and overarching REC governance. This includes the Main Body of the REC, and the REC Schedules. 

Category 2 documents cover Service Provider obligations and technical content, including Service and Data Specifications, and some operational documents. 

Changes to Category 1 and 2 documents follow the Change Management process set out in the Change Management Schedule. The Change Process User Guide describes the process.
