Rejections of Registration Data Updates (D0205)

On receipt of a switch request, the Meter Point Registration System (MPRS) sends out a D0217 (Market Message Reference MM00120) as ‘Confirmation of the Registration of a Metering Point’ to Energy Suppliers. This is sent regardless of whether the registration is then cancelled.

If suppliers send in an ‘Update to Registration Data’ on a D0205 (Market Message Reference MM00108) when a registration has been subsequently cancelled the D0205 will be rejected, and a rejection flow D0203 (Market Message Reference MM00120)  will be returned to the supplier.

To prevent excessive D0203s from being received, it is advised to check the status of the registration via the Electricity Enquiry Service (EES) prior to sending the D0205.

For more information on the process please refer to REC Schedule 23 - Registration Services. You can access this schedule on Energy Market Architecture Repository (EMAR).
