Introduction to the Operational Metering Forums Webinar (24 May 2022)
On 24 May 2022, the REC Code Manager hosted a well-attended virtual webinar to inform REC stakeholders about how new Operational Metering Forums were to be established under the remit of the Metering Expert Panel, effective from June 2022.
Summary
The Code Manager has identified that many part seek an open forum to facilitate exchange of best pratice, operational issues and opportunities with their industry counterparts, specifically with respect to metering related topics. Through the Metering Expert Panel, the Code Manager proposed the creation of two new open forums (one for gas, one for electricity), where any REC Party would be invited to attend and contribute agenda items for discussion.
The Electricity Operational Metering Forum (E-OMF) would meet for the first time in June 2022 (thereafter in September, December and March). The Gas Operational Metering Forum would initially meet in July 2022 (thereafter in October, January and April).
Documentation for these meetings would be shared via the REC Portal on the Metering Expert Panel Committee Workspace (here). The Code Manager has contacted all Contract Managers to populate email addresses for a distribution list specific to Operational Metering Forum updates.
