Update on GES Platform Implementation and Next Steps
RECCo want to provide you with the latest update on the implementation of a more efficient and robust platform for Gas Enquiry Services (GES). Although extensive testing and monitoring was conducted, the initial migration on June 22 2024, revealed some unforeseen data issues. Consequently, the decision was made to revert the GES Online Portal and Supply Point Switching API to the legacy platform.
The legacy system has continued to function smoothly as work was undertaken to resolve these issues. The priority is to ensure the new platform meets high standards before moving forward.
Next Steps
RECCo have now established a revised implementation plan, which includes enhanced scrutiny and assurance for the identified data discrepancies. RECCo, in collaboration with Xoserve and Correla, is focused on reimplementing the platform with an emphasis on improving the reliability and quality of the GES.
Performance reports indicate that the service is performing well. However, if you experience any issues with GES, please submit a support ticket through the portal.
Another update will be provided on the project’s status toward the end of September. At this stage, it is not expected that direct user actions will be necessary for this upgrade.
