The Consolidated Metering Code of Practice (CoMCoP) specifies the activities involved in the management of the life cycle of the electricity and gas meter installation and maintenance - it sets out the minimum standards that shall be complied with by those registered to perform work within the scope of the CoMCoP. It is a REC Product which is categorised as a Category 2 document in the REC Baseline Statement. 

The CoMCoP is a consolidation of four previous Codes of Practice in to one combined document. The CoMCoP has replaced these previous Codes of Practice:  

• Meter Operation Code of Practice (MOCoP); 
• Metering Code of Practice (MCoP); 
• Automated Meter Reading (AMR) Service Providers Code of Practice (ASPCoP); and 
• Schedule 16 – Smart Metering Installation
